One tip is...don't stop! If you start the renovations, just keep them going until the last nail is pound into the wall or you'll be left with drawers without hardware, or sliding doors without handles and locks...ahem jayme...
I finally got a chance to visit your blog site and I can't believe how much of your life I've missed. Take care...i have lots of reading to do on this site.
